Our church service begins at 10:30. Wear whatever makes you comfortable- you’ll find all kinds at Hillcrest. Great kids programs for children (infant-5th grade) are available during the service, with elementary kids beginning with their parents in church. Our Junior High and High School students attend service and serve in many different ministries.
Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early to find parking and get to the church. The church is located a couple of blocks south of the Hospital and just across the street from Hillcrest Park. Look out for signs on the side of the road to direct you. Parking is available in the front of the church, around the south side, or along the street by the park.
You’ll be greeted at the front door by our Welcome Team, who will show you and where to go and make sure your kids are checked-in and have a chance to meet their teacher. If they want to stay with you in the service- that’s great as well. Make sure you grab a program, a cup of coffee if you want, and find a seat. Nursery and Pre-School classes are available all morning, while Elementary children will be dismissed after the first couple of songs in the service and will walk to the back of the sanctuary to meet their teacher. A Family Room streaming the service is also available if the wiggles prove to be too much (trust us-we understand!).
Our services are designed to inspire and challenge you! It will last about an hour and 15 minutes and includes a couple of opening songs, the Pastor’s message which is uniquely interactive, and a time of response through song, contemplation, prayer, communion and our offering. Our goal is to uniquely engage both your mind and heart and help you grow in your understanding of who God is, His call on your life, and your willingness to take your next step with Him.
If you’ve ever been to church, you know that Pastors have a bulk of the time to share with you the Scriptures each week. We do things a little different. Our messages are part conversation- Pastor Ryan teaches, but that includes questions and insights that the whole congregation interacts with as he goes. Imagine a sermon in a classroom- complete with a whiteboard- and you’ll start to get the idea. Trust us- you’ll like it. In fact, we think it will be hard for you to go back to anything else. Don’t worry though, we’ll never make you feel awkward. During our services, you’ll never be singled out as a visitor. You aren’t expected to participate in the conversation though you certainly are welcome to. If you stop by the Welcome Center on your way in or out we have additional information about us as well as a small gift there for you too (Hint: Coffee and Chocolate together)! When you are comfortable, you can take the next step by joining a Grow Group, serving in a Ministry Team or attending our Membership Class to find out why we do what we do.
